Located in the southern Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia – an incredible ecosystem and the world’s largest intact, coastal temperate rainforest – Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort is a world-class adventure destination. Accessible by air only, the intimate, family owned-and-operated resort comprises of nine luxurious guest cabins tucked away at the base of 1524-metre (5000 ft) Mount Stephens. Running through the heart of the resort is a beautiful cascading waterfall supplying both clean drinking water and green energy.

The lodge at Nimmo Bay is a cozy, ample space, perfect for relaxing, and where you’ll find guitars and other instruments, along with a full-service bar with a fine selection of specialty spirits and cigars. Other resort amenities include a floating fire dock, a comprehensive games room complete with a self-serve mini bar, woodstove, and satellite TV, a gift shop, two outdoor cedar hot tubs, rainforest rain shower, waterfall plunge pool, and massage treatments. As well, an extensive variety of activities take place in and around the resort and are offered to all guests to enhance their Nimmo Bay experience, with all adventure gear and equipment provided.

Itinerary

Day 1


Depart Port Hardy for Nimmo Bay!

Arriving into Port Hardy by vehicle, you will change your mode of transportation and take a beautiful scenic flight to Nimmo Bay.

Upon arrival check into your own personal cabin. The resort has just 9 cabins, so you are sure to have plenty of space for relaxing. Each cabin comes equipped with a comfortable living area, washroom, two bedrooms, and an outdoor seating area offering stunning wilderness views in a tranquil setting. An extensive, hand-picked selection of superior in-room amenities include, house made cookies, local BC wine, complimentary mini bar, Starbucks coffee and specialty teas, cozy robes, Crocs footwear, Belgian linens and feather pillows, Bose iPod dock and stereo, organic bath products, and turndown service.

After touring the property and the amenities head to the restuarant for dinner. Food is an integral part of the guest experience, and the resort’s sustainably minded and environmentally conscious culinary philosophy is focused around its pristine landscape. The dining room features modern Pacific Northwest cuisine emphasizing clean, fresh flavours based on locally caught seafood, foraged plants, pasture-raised BC meats, carefully sourced produce from certified organic farmers, and complemented with exceptional ingredients harvested from the kitchen’s very own garden.

Day 2


Coastal Safari Day Trip

Experience life off the beaten track today on your enhanced Coastal Safari day-trip. This is personalised and can include visits to surrounding remote communities like Echo Bay. On this daylong adventure, learn more about life in the Great Bear Rainforest and those who call it home. From museums to coastal research stations and local artisans, a Coastal Safari experience ensures a chance to connect with our local culture, history and natural environment.

Explore the magnificent ocean wilderness of coastal British Columbia by boat on this full-day excursion. Search for wildlife such as whales, bears, sea lions, and dolphins, marvel at the scenery, and enjoy a gourmet picnic in a stunning locale.

Of course you will end the day with a scrumptious local meal in the Nimmoa Bay Restaurant.

Day 3


Day to experience the resort of Nimmo Bay

Today awake at your leisure, eat breakfast in the beautiful natural surroundings and choose from a selection of activities available at the resort to fill your day. Choose to:

> Land Adventures: Hiking, rock rappelling, and yoga,
> Marine Adventures: Stand up paddle boarding, lake swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, and beach combing

Day 4


Private Helicopter Adventure

This adventure is for people of all ages who are looking to explore 130,000 square kilometres (50,000 square miles) of extraordinary wilderness with their own helicopter. Your guides will take you to 10,000 year old glaciers, mountain tops, old growth forests, white sand beaches, waterfalls, pristine lakes, remote islands, hot springs, isolated rivers, and cultural museums. At each location you may find yourself heli-hiking, swimming, rafting, drifting, fishing, learning, playing, taking photos, or wildlife viewing. This adventure is tailored to your specific desires, and the possibilities are truly endless.

Day 5


Check-out and return to Port Hardy

Today you will awaken, have your breakfast and head back to Port Hardy either by helicopter or floatplane.
