Alaska Roundtrip from Vancouver, BC

Join our agent Pearl Lemauviel as you sail your way north to Alaska. Enjoy the sites at Sitka, Juneau, Skagway, just to name a view, then return through the Inside Passage to Victoria and Vancouver, BC.

Itinerary

Day 1 - September 11, 2022


Depart Vancouver, British Columbia

Today check-in and board your ship. Find your cabin and a spot on the deck to say goodbye to Vancouver for the next 10 days. Sail under the Lions Gate Bridge and see the skyline of Vancouver disappear as you sail out into the Georgia Strait.

Day 2


Inside Passage

Be sure not to sleep in too late today. As you cruise up the Inside Passage, take in the beautiful landscape. Breakfast and lunch on the deck will be well worth the view. Grab a lounge chair and enjoy the open waters or enjoy the daily activities onboard.

Day 3 - September 13, 2022


Sitka, Alaska

You have arrived into Alaska! First stop is Sitka. This seaside town on the coast of the Gulf of Alaska has beautiful natural scenery for you to experience. This village was originally a Russian settlement, until it was purchased in 1867. It's heritage is still visible today. A walk along the promenade in Whale Park offers a chance to view breaching humpback whales while a trek into Sitka Historical Park reveals stunning coastal trails and hundred-year-old totem poles. Venture to Tongass National Forest for up close views of wildlife, including Alaska Coastal Brown Bears, American Bald Eagles and Sitka Blacktail Deer. Or head to the Sheldon Jackson Museum, the oldest standing structure in all of Alaska which is home to a small, yet impressive collection of artifacts from all of Alaska’s indigenous groups.

Day 4 - September 14, 2022


Hubbard Glacier, Alaska

Hubbard glacier is one of Alaska’s most exciting natural treasures. Today find your space on the deck to enjoy the amazing vista's of the glacier. You may even be lucky enough to hear the thunder cracking sound of the glacier calving.
The glacier was nNamed after Gardiner Hubbard, the founder and president of the National Geographic Society, Hubbard Glacier is the longest tidewater glacier in the world. Dramatically massive at about 7-miles wide, 76-miles long and as tall as a 30-story building above the waterline, it’s the largest river of ice in North America.

Juneau, Alaska

Visiting the capital of Alaska, Juneau provides the opportunity to go dog-sledding or Whale Watching. Juneau is one of the largest wilderness areas in the United States. Enjoy it!

Day 6 - September 16, 2022


Skagway, Alaska

The great Klondike Gold Rush lives on in Skagway's charming downtown of restored 19th-century buildings and its historic railway. Located on the edge of the wilderness, this small town saw its fair share of gold rush, get rich dreamers pass through. Today, it’s residents are more than welcome to share the stories of its untamed past. And there’s so much fascinating history to uncover on a Skagway cruise. Head to Klondike Gold Rush National Park Museum for an in-depth look at Klondike and the two routes out of Skagway – Chilkoot Pass and White Pass. From the vintage train, admire the mountains and see the 1898 trail that fortune seekers traveled on foot. The White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad runs the vintage locomotives through the famously steep Chilkoot Trail and offers sweeping mountain views during its climb toward Canada.

Day 7 - September 17, 2022


Icy Strait Point, Alaska

For thousands of years, the Tlingit Indians have called this place home. Located near the city of Hoonah, and home to a historic cannery, Icy Strait Point also offers travelers the chance to view wildlife like humpback whales, orcas, seals, eagles, and brown bears, or to explore monuments to the region's fishing heritage.

Endicott Arm - Cruising Day

Alaska’s Endicott Arm Fjord marks the southern edge of the 653,179-acre Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness area. As you sail through its 30-mile-long stretch, you can’t help but be amazed by the untouched beauty of the surrounding granite mountains, verdant valleys and numerous waterfalls. Drifting icebergs, deep blue waters and a spectacular tidewater glacier only add to this natural spectacle’s appeal. Endicott Arm is one of the largest breeding grounds for harbor seals on the planet. Keep your eyes open for these creatures splashing in icy waters near the ship or floating with their pups on giant chunks of ice. Along the shore you might also glimpse brown bears, bald eagles, sea ducks, deer, moose and wolves. Your journey through scenic Endicott Arm Fjord ends with a front-row view of the striking Dawes Glacier. Standing over 600 feet tall and a half-mile wide, this very active icecap is known for its spectacular calving displays which noisily produce huge, chunky icebergs that float in area waters. Remember to dress in wind-resistant layers for viewing scenery outside on deck.

Day 9 - September 19, 2022


Ketchikan, Alaska

You've never tasted salmon so fresh. Known as the 'Salmon Capital of the World', Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit people, who have carved the world's largest collection of totem poles. If you're up for an adventure, take a canoe and nature trail excursion through the rain forest or a wilderness exploration followed by a sumptuous crab feast you'll long remember.

Day 10 - September 20, 2022


Inside Passage

Grab a location on deck - but make sure it is the same side as on the way up, so that you see the other side of the Inside Passage. This complex labyrinth of fjords, bays, and lush green islands is home to an abundance of wildlife, including orca, mountain goats, bald eagles, bears, puffins, sea otters and much more. You'll never forget the sight of 40-ton whales hurling themselves into the air, almost completely escaping the water. If you're especially lucky, you could see them swimming together to create a bubble net, trapping and eating fish by the giant mouthful.

Day 11 - September 21, 2022


Victoria, British Columbia

Spend your day exploring the capital of British Columbia. Walk along the water and ensure to explore the beautiful rose garden at the Parliament building. Alternatively take an excursion to the amazing Butchart gardens. Experience the time-honored English afternoon tea at the historic Fairmont Empress Hotel. The menu includes many traditional favorites, like dainty finger sandwiches, scones, and a host of sumptuous varietal teas.

Day 12 - September 22, 2022


Arrive into Vancouver

Enjoy breakfast onboard this morning and then disembark to continue your explorations in Vancouver. Alternatively Personal Travel Management agents can assist with transfers home.
